The software is great. Bought this to replace an aging UPC. It is quite. It currently indicates over 20 minutes of battery life. Looks great too.
I have used this for about a year as my backup drive. I have found it very reliable and easy to install on either Windows XP or Windows 7. Yes, recommended.
I'm sure the auto-shutdown capabilities are just as good, though I haven't tried them out. Easy setup, and the LCD is an excellent addition.
I use APC for all my business needs, and have been consistently happy with their products. Let me start saying I have been an APC fan all my life.
The price is right, and it has been functioning great. But for home, I was looking for something a bit less expensive but that I could still trust with my equipment, and something to keep the Internet up and running in case of a power outage.
The CyberPower UPS fit the bill perfectly. I can quickly see how much power is being used, and more importantly how much time I have remaining on battery backup.
If you're looking for a good quality UPS at a good price, you can't beat this CyberPower UPS.
This UPS seemed like a great idea, but it only lasted 2 months. I had to pay to return this to manufacture, and I m still awaiting a replacement.
This is plenty of time to get work-in-progress saved and to go through the shutdown routines on all 3 computers.Side note: If you have not used a UPS before, the weight of the unit may surprise you - as it did me. Also, with every item on and in use, I could get 16 minutes of use time from the battery in case of power failure.
I had it installed in 10 minutes. It came fully charged, so there is no wait time.
This is my first UPS unit. To test it's capacity, I not only plugged everything in the office into the unit, but turned everything on at the same time. Here's what is plugged in and powered on:2 CPU towers2 22' LCD monitors1 laptop computer2 computer speaker sets1 modem1 router1 radio/CD boombox1 external harddrive1 portable DVD player1 phone extension1 laptop cooler1 economy printer1 All-in-one printer (copy/fax/scan/printer)1 desk lampWith all those plugged in, powered on and in use, I'm only using 37% of the UPS capacity.
I purchased this unit for our home office. It seems that I could have gone with a smaller (less output) model.
Obviously, use time would go up as items are turned off. It contains a lead acid battery, so it is quite heavy. If you have any trouble lifting, you may want to have someone around when the unit arrives to help you.
